The founder of Yasaman Law Firm, Mahmut Ekrem Yasaman graduated from Istanbul University Law School in 1931. After acted as a judge for twenty-four years, he continued his career as lawyer from 1956 till 1981, the year he passed away.
Prof. Dr. Hamdi Yasaman, after he graduated from Galatasaray high school in 1968 and Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1972, he joined Istanbul University Law School Commercial Law Department as a research assistant in 1973. He obtained his doctorate degree by the thesis titled “Investment Funds in Swiss and French Law and Their Applicability in Turkish Law”. He became associate professor by his lectureship thesis titled “Merger of Joint Stock Companies” and full professor by his professorship thesis titled “Securities Exchange Law”. Prof. Dr. Hamdi Yasaman, following 26 years in Istanbul University, continued his academic career at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law as the head of Commercial Law Department and also as the dean of the Law Faculty in the years 2004-2005. Yasaman published numerous books and articles in corporate and commercial law, security exchange law, capital market law, banking law, and intellectual property law. Prof. Yasaman has been continuing his academic career at Galatasaray University in Istanbul.
The third-generation member of the Yasaman Law Firm, Zeynep Yasaman, after graduated from French high school Saint-Michel in Istanbul, continued her education at the University of Paris II – Panthéon Assas in the field of Economic and Social Administration and at the University of London King’s College where she obtained her MSc in International Management. After completed her business management-oriented education, Zeynep Yasaman continued to law studies and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne Law School and afterward obtained her doctoral degree from Marmara University European Studies Institute. Yasaman’s Ph.D. thesis is about infringement of trademark rights on the Internet in the European Union and Turkish Law. Dr. Yasaman acts also as trademark and patent attorney.
